SUMMARY:PYP 4 - PYP 5: STREET ART
\nTarif par élève 15€ \n–> INSCRIPTION <— \n\n \nWithin the framework of Unit 2 of the PYP 4/5 programme “How we express ourselves”\, our students have been working on all types of art. With their French teacher in particular\, Carole Rossi-Cuvillier\, they have been studying the “STREET ART” movement. \nIn order to help our students to discover different works of street art and to finish up this unit\, EPBI has organized a morning fieldtrip to Montpellier on Monday 6th December 2021 from 8.45am to 12.30pm. \nThe students will be accompanied by their French teacher\, Carole Rossi-Cuvillier\, and by Dorothée Lebaillif\, the School Director. \nWe will leave the school at 9am and we’ll take a regional train from the station in Baillargues (only 5 minutes’ walk from the school) to the Gare Saint-Roch in Montpellier. We will return to school by train and should arrive at 12.45-1pm just in time for lunch at the canteen as usual. \nOur two-hour Street Art Tour will begin in the centre of Montpellier starting at the Saint Roch train station. We will first walk to the Rondelet Post Office (5 minutes walk) to admire some beautiful graffiti on the building (legal graffiti that is well-preserved). \nWe will then go on to the Ecusson district near the Saint Denis church to admire a trompe l’œil painting that is very often forgotten but is however very informative about the city. \nThen we will walk on to the Observatoire to see another tropme l’œil before heading back towards the station and to this district that is rich in recent Street Art.  Near the Saint-Roch church\, we will discover a third trompe l’œil painting. \nOur guide will talk about local street artists such as Mr BMX\, Sunra\, Oup’s et Crying Sailor who are regularly active in our city. These four artists are committed\, each in their own way\, to a societal cause that is reflected in their work. \nFinally we will finish our Street Art Tour in La Place de la Comédie and the Méditerranée district to admire numerous artworks by local artists. \nThroughout the tour\, our students will be able to express themselves on their own interpretations of this street art and ask themselves (and the guide) many questions. \n\nFunction: What role does this painting have in our world?\nForm: What are the recognizable characteristics of the paining?\nPerspective: What cultural\, historical and personal perspectives does this painting offer on the world? What are your interpretations of these artworks?\n\nFor this fieldtrip\, each child will need to have the following items in their backpack: \nA notebook and pencil/pen \n\nA bottle of water\nA little snack\nA comfortable pair of shoes or trainers for this 2-hour walk\nA warm jacket (scarf and gloves if necessary)\n\nWe invite you to proceed to payment online. The deadline is Friday 3rd December 2021. \nTariff per child: 15€ \n–> ENROLMENT <– \n
